an upper expander only widens the jaw horizontally, wont add any vertical length. if you want to lengthen your lower third, depends on if you have a compressed deep bite or a skeletal defiency. just get braces and they might add a bit of height but if not jaw surgery is a must or implants. if u wanna know the root cause get an xray
