Can you get real friends after high school?

I only have my cousin as a close friend, what about having a bigger social circle? Is it impossible after highschool. Man it sucks how i had a big social circle during middle school but all those guys changed and became retarded. Like at 14 i had 5 close friends, but they all somehow changed for the worst. One migrated to the US, another became a huge degen that kills street dogs for fun, the other two became anti social nerds and played LOL 24/7, and i was left only with my best friend then, but he seems to have ghosted me now as well cause we were in different classes during highschool and kinda drifted during that time. Now im almost 21 and have just my cousin, kinda suicidefuel ngl.

Well Covid cucked the whole university thing too , it looks like its giga over. I can't give up tho, friends are a must for life, i can't go anywher3 or travel or do stuff alone, it just feels boring af and meaningless

Maybe but its also about common interests. The beauty of having long term childhood friends is that you all get along even if you differ in interests. Now tho? You must match eachother which makes it bad

Yes, college is the last chance, after that it's pretty much over, people already have their own established social circles and it's very difficult to enter them...
At an workplace it's not the same, people can have very different ages, some have wives, kids, they don't have time for new friends, and of course there's also the work, which can be hard and stressful, in school it's relatively easy and the atmosphere is pretty relaxed so people can easily become friends.

There are some exceptions though like places where mostly young people work and the work is relatively easy, routine and with many slow hours so people have time to chat - like some bars, restaurants, hotels, amusement parks, etc...Near my university campus for example there was an amusement park and plenty of bars and restaurants, most of the staff was composed from college students, and the atmosphere was relaxed, friendly and I saw the waiters talking to each other, laughing, making plans how to spend the weekend, etc...However, these are mostly temporary jobs, you can't really make a career out of them.
