15yo currently and im thinking of asking my parents to get me a palate expander because I have a 6 tooth smile narrow palate. I also have an overbite. I was just wondering if i could somehow make up that I have breathing issues and if that would work. Would the dentist/orthodontist tell me to fuck off? I don't have crowding or fucked up teeth or any issues breathing, so if i lie about it would they somehow be able to tell that im lying? Also, what kind of symptoms should I larp to make sure they give me a palate expander?

please do not lie about symptoms😐 Orthodontists can objectively assess airway, palate width, bite and growth stage with exams photos, scans, and cephalometrics fabricated breathing complaints are unlikely to...
if you orthodontist doesn’t suggest it then you don’t need it

At 15 a narrow palate or an overbite and “six tooth smile” are legitimate orthodontic concerns on their own, and a palate expander (often RPE/MARPE depending on skeletal maturity) may be indicated even without breathing issues. The correct approach is to ask for a full orthodontic evaluation, explain your aesthetic and bite concerns, and let the clinician decide if expansion is not appropriate, they can discuss alternatives (braces with arch development elastics or timing options). Lying is just unnecessary and counterproductive😅
