Can you thumbpull forward?

Heard it can give better maxillary forward growth. I also did it for some time, but is it safe and wouldn't it cause overbite?

I got wider palate but probably around 3mm or so. It is somewhat cope but logically can work.

Not really I tried thumb pulling and it didn’t do shit but toung chewing really widened my palate
