Can your friend group only be people with equal smv as you?

It seems like people segregate as friends based on attractiveness. Usually friends who are tall stick together, same race, popularity and good looking chads stick together. Is this true? Is it possible to break the barrier and have friends in higher social ladder ranking. When I talk to chads or people better looking than me they seem uninterested and only want to hear themselves talk. They also dont really want to hang with me when I bring up the topic

lol just like how u want to be friend w/ chads they don't wanna be friends w/ normies. in college 4/5 friend groups all are similar looking. the rest 1/5 is a very gl person in a normie group, never an ugly person in a very gl group

my looks match friends dont want to go out to clubs or outside in general. Just play board games and drink at home. I like doing nerdy stuff but i need to mix it up and go out
