In both world wars, soldiers from the old world countries talked about the considerable height difference between them and those from the new world.
Such a difference in stature shows that even before the British embargo in the First World War, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, citizens of the New World countries had more and easier access to healthy food than anyone else in the rest of the world.
