only tadpoles fed the thyroid gland metamorphised into adult frogs, thymus, adrenals, liver, muscle etc simply made them grow randomly, die or stayed the same size.

analoguous to how cancer cells divide but do not really have a function, they just grow undifferentiated until the patient dies.

thyroid hormone is also responsible for brain microtubule formation, BDNF and skin fibroblasts etc, t3 allows efficient energy production through usage of oxygen (by increasing CO2)
