Owning a car only makes a difference in 3rd world countries like the United States where everyone is too fat to walk and you get murdered at night, or places like South Africa where you have to drive into gated communities. First world countries with walkable cities and public transportation (aka actual civilisation) are infinitely more convenient and livable, and the people who live there are thinner and healthier because they walk and cycle everywhere unlike amerimutts who drive to their letterbox to collect the mail.

If you're 18 and you take out a loan for thousands of dollars so you can drive some shitbox around you're a retard of epic proportions and you could spend that money on surgery, months backpacking through Europe on holiday, renting a place in the city, literally anything besides buying a depreciating asset which adds fuel to your budget, insurance you have to pay and increases your chance of dying in a car crash by 1 million fold. 99% guarantee of a horrifically painful death getting in a high speed car crash, we had a 24 year old female come into the ED yesterday with 3rd degree burns to 96% of her body because she got trapped in her car while it caught alight. She's dead now obviously.

I live in the middle of the city in an apartment and I walk, catch buses and trains to basically everywhere I go. I drive my car a handful of times per month and Uber isn't even that expensive in comparison to the monthly expenditure of owning a car. Owning a car does absolutely nothing for dating prospects unless you live in some hick town with 50 people and a cow and you have to drive 700km to the next city to see another human being. Every girl I match with lives in the same city in apartment blocks I literally just take the lift down or up to get laid or walk down the street. Having a car only matters for LTRs so you can do hobbies together, go on holidays etc. and go places it's one of the last things you should spend money on when you're young and broke.
