if you're around the ages of 18-30 I will assume you don't have much savings or money: buying a car when you're a genuine candidate for surgery is the ultimate jester move.
the second you drive the car out of the garage or driveway it depreciates. Whereas spending that money on surgery that you NEED will be permanent and a huge investment into your life - more IOIs, slays, respect. Even if you have to take public transport for a few more years it's not deep, cars end up running more expensive with fuel and maintenance of parts so you're basically boarding up a sinking ship.
