In 2021 I will be staying in Argentina for 3 months.

I already have some basics in Spanish and I wonder if I should continue to learn Castillian Spanish or if I should learn an Argentine dialect instead.

Also is it any easier to learn Spanish if I already speak perfect English, decent French and had Latin in school? I guess German doesn't really help here.

OK, so many tourists and visitors, as well as many born and bred proteños, say that the language spoken in Buenos Aires is called "Castillian". Sorry to tell you: that is plain wrong

Rioplatense Spanish (/riːoʊpləˈtɛnseɪ/),[3] also known as Rioplatense Castilian, is a variety of Spanish[4][5][6] spoken mainly in the areas in and around the Río de la Plata Basin of Argentina and Uruguay.[7] It is also referred to as River Plate Spanish or Argentine Spanish.[8] Being the most prominent dialect to employ voseo in both speech and writing, many features of Rioplatense are also shared with the varieties spoken in Eastern Bolivia and Chile. This dialect is often spoken with an intonation resembling that of the Neapolitan language of Southern Italy, but there are exceptions. The word employed to name the Spanish language in Argentina is castellano (English: Castilian) and in Uruguay, español (English: Spanish).

Well, spanish is mostly the same everywhere, just few words, expressions or definitions change. If you are in Argentina you will learn their accent and some of their words and expressions obviously, if you were in Spain you would do the same there. Not big deal, but learn proper Castellano if you don't want to sound like a third worlder.
