I never understood, I always read "estrogen closes plaques" "testosterone closes plaques"

Women, why aren't they taller if in theory estrogen keeps the plates open?

Castrated = extremely low levels of testosterone = extremely low levels of estrogen = delayed growth plate fusion = abnormally taller

Testosterone aromatizes into estrogen in men, so if you have very low amounts of testosterone, you would usually have very low amounts of estrogen. Estrogen fuses growth plates. Low estrogen keeps growth plates from fusing

They don't have the hormonal profile of women. Women have low testosterone high estrogen, while the castrated singers had low testosterone low estrogen
