The Vatican has long wandered from the path of true Christianity. Since the tragic and fateful schism of 1054, they have built their empire not on the firm foundation of Christ but on the shifting sands of human pride and innovation. Their doctrines, born of councils and papal decrees rather than the apostolic tradition, have led them into spiritual darkness. The deviations—the so-called 'Filioque' and the claim of papal supremacy—were merely the first cracks in a structure that would grow increasingly corrupt over the centuries.
Is it any wonder, then, that this institution, so far removed from the spirit of the Gospels, could descend into the depths of moral decay? The selling of indulgences, the political intrigues, the hoarding of wealth—all these testify to their estrangement from the simplicity and purity of the faith delivered once for all to the saints.
And now, as if to compound their sins, whispers abound of financial entanglements with those who hold no love for Christ or His Church. In their desperation to maintain their worldly power, the Vatican is said to have turned to those who would exploit them, offering loans at usurious interest rates, draining the coffers of Rome until they were left bankrupt and vulnerable. This is what happens when an institution trades the riches of heaven for the fleeting wealth of this world.
Yet, we must not look upon this tragedy with hatred, but with sorrow and vigilance. For the gates of hell may rage against the Church, but they will not prevail against the true faith, preserved in the Orthodox Church—the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. We must pray for repentance, for those caught in the snares of error, and for the triumph of Christ's light over the darkness that has shrouded the Vatican.
