They should be obtained as kittens and trained . from day 1 NEVER let them outside unleashed, NEVER let them scratch or bite you (and don't pull away if they do, you push back hard so they don't perceive you as playing prey-predator with them), NEVER let them scratch anynthing. I did this with my two and they are docile quiet, sweet. every now and then when hes feeling playful and i try to pet him I see his instinct to grab or nibble me pop in his eyes, then it instantly vanishes. becausse he was trained well as kitty.
