It was just a shitshow as predicted, and they both went even some lenghts further and decided to clean the shoes of Trump in front of the world, probably in exchange for some BS aid

They were probably auctioning between the world leaders who wanted to get the PR win to end their shitshow and be portrayed as a lover of peace, just like Saudi and Iran did some years ago with China when they restored relations.

People who have their stuff together don't sign ceasefires at the beggining of the war unless they have finished their objectives during the first hours in a blitzkrieg offensive.
