I’m talking about when you click someone’s profile and chat and conversation pop up. What’s the difference between them and when should you use them?

I’m talking about when you click someone’s profile and chat and conversation pop up. What’s the difference between them and when should you use them?

A conversation will generally be more visible as it directly appears as distinct notification (red)
A chat will create a private chatroom, like the general chat that exists for us all (blue), you dont directly see new messages there and instead have to either get a sound notif or an alert (bell) to be notified
You can send messages faster in chats generally but message options are more limited
