I think it depends on the way your gonions are positioned.

I was told if they are neutral or outward then you will benefit quite a bit from chewing, if they are inward then your face will probably become more roundish, but still there's no harm in chewing you might as well.

You won't get comparable changes to jaw surgery, but you could still get changes.
