Because of my face shape, temporalis hypertrophy would be a huge looksmin for me but i don’t really know how to chew while avoiding it.

The only method i know to chew gum without activating the temporalis is to chew with the front teeth but everyone here advises against it, although nobody has said why. Can someone give me an actual reason why not to?

Also, does anyone know what effects it could have according to this thread: https://looksmax.org/threads/chewing-megathread.160248/ it doesn’t mention front teeth chewing, is that because it causes some negative effects according to that theory or something?

chew with your mouth closed and you wont activate the temporalis too much

i’ve tried a bunch of methods like that, i chew up and forward with my mouth closed and i can still feel it being activated significantly when i put my fingers on my temporalis

Front teeth arent really made for chewing hard things though. Idk muc habout chewing with them so i guess it would make sense if they developed the chin/forward growth more, but when it comes to jaw angle and masseters you probably wont put much pressure with front teeth.

i've tried putting my fingers on my masseters/temporalis to see what teeth activate what muscles and i've found that the front teeth activate the massteers the most and the temporalis the least, although growth of the jaw angle is a fair point.

i read the chewing megathread
incisors are the front teeth so i guess u should use that for forward growth, and it says that any type of chewing makes the mandible bigger/robust which makes sense
i dont know if using molars necessarily helps with the gonions though which is what i want to make better

that activates it more i believe. and yeah like whatashame said front teeth arent made for chewing so youll barely be able to chew with front teeth anyway

what does this actually mean though? i’m definitely able to chew gum with the front teeth

incisors are made to cut food. The tongue automatically push the food to the molars so it can be chewed, you can force using the incisors but its unnatural and there is no reason, that ive heard, for it.

i get that there’s no biological reason for it, i’m just wondering if there are any specific downsides other than “you’re not supposed to”

the human body is complex, its always better to not do anything unnatural if you dont have very objective reasons for it
