Have you tried them? Does anyone know if they actually work

Solution
mohito
Ok, this is one thing I was mixed on, a lot of people said different things on it so I was wondering if it did anything good
Hyoid bone resting position isnt something u can meaningfully train. Muscle contraction can move it during swallowing or speaking but it cant permanently elevate its baseline position.

I would appreciate the solution
Ofc they work grey just make sure ur standing very close to a wall and put ur shoulders in the wall and try to hold a double chin for 5 sec atleast

Mark as solution

There is no evidence of suprahyoid training to raise the hyoid bone, its mainly genetical placing, same way u cant move your clavicles higher by training upper chest or moving your zygos above by training cheek muscles

For a tighter hyoid, get lean or just inject aqualyx to the neck.
Here's a guide for that:

i think there was a study on opening the jaw super fast as a way to train the fast twitch fibers and actually lift the hyoid

Fast twitch fibers are mostly recruited during resistance loaded movements, i highly doubt they can overcome the connective structures around the bone, but make sure to send the link if u find it

this one
also fast twitch fibers are recruited during explosive movement as well, which is why if you are limited by the amount of load you can add you just have to do the concentric part of the lift faster and the eccentric slower

I think i have seen this before
It shows that exercises can improve the elevation of hyoid during swallowing and slightly increase the rest position, but only in elderly subjects with swallowing issues (mean age is 74 there). Not healthy individuals

i dont really see why this wouldnt carry over tbh
perhaps it only really works on already weakened suprahyoids but i feel like its unlikely for that to be true
maybe i am wrong tho

I feel like training usually just makes muscles stronger but can really push bones into new positions. Rehab movements in weak muscles dont really apply to healthy ones because it all depends on the starting condition. Its all just speculation

the aquayx, could it make ur face worse in the future because it wont have structure, I might sound stupid I just think I heard something like that, might have been face fat removal surgery for buccal fat

Aqualyx doesnt remove structural bone support, it just reduces localized fat. The only issue is when too much fat is removed, which can an aged look, but its still not a loss of structural support (u can also see this with ppl who go through buccal fat removal surgeries)
