Have any of yall ever heard of Chin Wing Osteonomy?

It´s more invasive than Genioplasty because the cut is further back at the mandible but this provides more potential for influencing the mandibular angle and overall contour.

Genioplasty may come with a hourglass deformity wich Chin Wing avoids.
Chin Wing however is more invasive and risky than the simple cut wich makes up the Genioplasty.

I´m planning on getting it alongside Bimax for my Underbite and Downward Growth so i´m intereseted what you guys think.

The downside of chin wing is that it can mess up the gonion-to-ramus transition.

Chin wing and even mini chin wing is a inferior option to just genioplasty, trimax and implants. They are often not that predicatable and leave a stepp off.

In my case Chin Wing May make sense since my Jaw Angle already looks worse than the potential Botch anyways

How much does it cost? How does he compare Bimax
My Bimax and the Orhtodontic Treatment is entirely covered by German Insurance. The Chin Wing would be about 2.5-3.5k and paid by me because its cosmetic. My plan is do adress the bones with Zarrinbal and get Implants with the Italians afterwards depending on the result.

Sounds good. Is he like the top guy in Germany? If you had to pay full price, would you still go with him, or would you go to Italy?

He is popular on the forums in Germany and he is bp aware enough to move your maxilla forward in the case of my underbite rather than ultra recess your mandible.

Some people are unsatisfied with the results they got with him the same can be said for the italians aswell though so idk.
I may prefer the Italians if it weren´t for the insurance coverage however i do admire Chin Wing as an Option for the Jaw Angle.
Implants can always be added but attempting to fix the underlying bone seems worth a try.

I was looking for some insights on the risk profile of Chin Wing and if it is worth it what it can change etc.

Really? I thought it was around $3.5k if you get it alongside a bimax, and that it would cost more if you do it without a bimax. Like, $3.5k is too little to cover both anesthesia and ho
Discussing on forums seems to raise prices what i meant is that it goes along with my bimax in the same procedure the bimax part being covered by insurance do me a favor and edit out any specific price numbers out of your replies as i did with mine we will all benefit

And will you opt to widen your jaw with chin wing or no?

Im not sure if i should i only know about malocclusions and recessions for now im not well versed on jaw angles/width just yet i just know im downward grown and my maxilla is recessed due to underbite as well as having asymmetries

chin wing isn't done by good surgeons because it's not that great and more risky
