Just curious when you guys celebrate Christmas. :ChristmasCatJam:

Some people don't celebrate it at all, some celebrate it on Christmas Eve and some later!

When do you celebrate it, and what traditions do you enjoy the most?

1766569783858

I usually spend Christmas Eve getting things ready, like preparing some food and cleaning the house. When I was much younger I remember my brother and I used to wait until midnight hoping to catch Santa (never happened). We'd end up falling asleep :Bedge: and then jump out of bed with excitement in the morning to open our gifts. We didn't always have gifts and there were years where we got nothing, and sometimes we got tons of gifts. :peepoGift:

As I grew older, for some reason I did my best to keep some traditions alive and even organised family gatherings and events myself. As I said in a previous post, I believe spending time with family really is one of the most beautiful experiences. That being said, I know some people don't get to enjoy that unfortunately... family time or healthy family relationships aren't something everyone has. :peepoRain:

Have you planned any activities with your family, friends or just by yourself? :FeelsLoveMan:

We do everything on christmas eve (the 24th), including preparation, celebration and sleeping drunk.

I don't know how others have always done it, this is the second christmas that I'm ever celebrating. :ChristmasDance:

we usually “celebrate” Christmas on the 25th. My parents are die hard Christians but they don’t really care that much about Christmas, which is weird. We don’t even have a Christmas tree :feelsbadman:

Were you even active when that guy was unbanned? He did nothing but spam completely rude and nonsensical things.

The only good thing about him were the reps, otherwise he was an obnoxious asshole.

I only have one friend who celebrates it in January but never asked him about the presents part.
Do you get them at midnight or when you get home, how does that go?

if we gather at my grandma's at 7pm or 8 we get presents at like 10pm, before midnight

but since i didnt go to my grandma's on 31st december for years we just do it a day or 2 later when we all gather

Similar situations, my parents never celebrated it because they were jehovas witnesses. But nowadays i can do what i want and my mom left the religion. :Comfi:

For some reason, the ones on my phone aren’t displaying as moving ones, I only see still images. But I’ve used this one so many times over at .org so I know she’s moving around but all I see is her leaning towards the right with pink hair only. :Animedance:

Are you from Europe or something lol. Boxing day is like the day after Christmas where every major item (games, electronics, shoes, etc) is on sale

Start celebrating on the 24th with a meal consisting of 12 dishes. Just spend time with family then open gifts, I love it like that 😌

Actually, yes :MmmHmm:
It's not so common in Europe, maybe the UK only.
If things are on sale on Amazon as well in the US I might have a look, but wasn't aware of this so thanks :peepoFlower:

Sounds really nice bhai. I'm glad you see that spending time with your friends & family is the real gift. I used to go to my extended family's houses during Christmas time, but I haven't done it in several years now. Mostly because they all live pretty far. And you're right: not everyone has family to celebrate with, which can be particularly rough at this time of year.

I plan on just being with my family. I don't really ask for gifts for anyone.

Hey brother, respect. I have muslim friends and some of them still enjoy things like decorations, the seasonal foods or gifts just culturally if not religiously. I know it doesn't apply to everyone so even if you don't celebrate it, I hope this end of the year treats you well. :Salamiheart:
