Could be. I think when those toxins are taken to hair follicles it signals the DHT to come there and help out. Kind of like tight calcified scalps seem to signal DHT to come to the hair follicles.

Don't think it directly causes hair loss, maybe the oxidative damage can start the stress cascade, but raising serum dht does not cause hair loss, only dht produced in the scalp does.
