Class II elastics Damon braces (Recession)

i have just been given class II elastics for my damon braces is it true that it recesses my maxilla, im sure my lower jaw is slightly recessed so will it bring it forwards? but my maxilla is very projected, Is it worth it wearing the elastics?

Yes. Listen to your orthodontist not incels online. If your maxilla is projected but jaw is recessed it must be fixed.
