It's a slow long term threat to economic development. In itself, it isn't very dangerous to human society but the danger is that if it causes enough economic strain it could contribute to a societal breakdown. This is the real issue. People need to work on creating better technology to boost productivity so mild climate changes aren't really a danger to the world economy.

Maybe. But it doesn't matter if the US and the EU cut their greenhouse gas emmisiions by 50%, if China, India, Indonesia and Russia continue their growth in greenhouse gas emissions. Bottom line is that if you not willing to Nuke China then nothing the US and EU do will matter. These are prepandemic numbers, jfl at what they are now on a percentage basis...
