In 2019, 1,004 fatal shootings were logged. 802 of these cases noted the race of the suspects and officers. 371 that were killed were white, while 236 were black. The vast majority of suspects were armed. The black suspects, however, were FAR more likely to be armed than the white suspects. In 2019, there were only 10 cases of unarmed african-americans shot and killed. That's right, 10 CASES (9 men, and 1 woman). But what makes this even more interesting is when we examine the cases in depth. Let's take a look, shall we?

Out of the 10 un-armed deaths: 5 were self-defense, 1 was allegedly accidental, and 4 were in pursuit or a stand-off. Out of the 4, 2 were criminally charged for lack of reason to kill. That's it. 2.
