I am telling you this as someone who has actually reinvented himself 2 times,
both socially and appearance wise.
You cannot half ass it. Yes you can ascend
Yes you can be less shit at talking to people.
But unless
> the universe has blessed you to be in a place where even small changes "reinvent" you (aka you are a obese sub5 with no friends and just losing weight and getting

you will need to burn to the ground physically and mentally first.
This means sleepless nights, and being very close to being insane
Otherwise you are just changing stuff in your life, which works fine if in good conditions,
but you might find yourself in a position like mine, where change can only be drastic.

TLDR: Ain't no such thing as half-way crooks.
