The whole point of dialectical materialism is to look at the failings of previous systems and work around them.

The USSR did have problems with logistics and fell behind somewhat in research and development in industrial technology (they used their oil money to buy foreign machinery to modernize to make up for this).

My country has free healthcare and it isn't terrible at all, my grandparents could be treated for their heart conditions and pancreatic cancer without inconveniencing my parents at all. These policies are needed to transform a country by helping the middle to lower class.

My grandmother was a single mother and had a low paying job, through social policies like this was she able to pay for my Dad to study overseas. These social policies help people if implemented right because like I said, it isn't black and white and there are many nuances to a nations success.

If you follow the general trend of growth if you ignore the fall of the ussr, the USSR would have about a 25-35 trillion GDP ppp today. Remember America has a GDP of 28 trillion by 2023 and both countries have about equal population (soviets slightly larger, since birthrates would not collapse for them). Remember, people were fucking in the USSR, they were raising families and shit. Now that Russia and other post soviet states are controlled by capitalist pigs, they have inceldom problem just like the west.
