Multiple socialist states have been created and continue to exist now. The Soviet Union falling was more due to its own internal factors than anything else. The people of the Union wanted it to exist, it is just that it had far too many traitors that were seeded in power. Arguably the USSR had a great economy considering that its gdp was the second highest in the world and it was a creditor rather than a debtor nation. You’re forgetting that communists advocate for a socialist state in the near future, and that if the material conditions are right then it will naturally turn into a communist society. You say that communism will never exist due to greed, however greed eventually evaporates entirely once a socialist society exists for long enough time. Moreover, socialist states are existing and current right now. Marx’s ideas are not dead, in fact they are the future and largely becoming more popular in the West in the newer generations.

All parts were good tbh, you had the same rights if you lived in Central Asia or the Caucasus or in European parts. Any differences in quality likely only occurred because of population differences.
