Human 'society' is just a pecking order where a small elite extracts resources from everyone else. Yes occasionally people fight off external threats like invaders but that's it. There is no 'society' otherwise. Nobody gives a shit about you just because you are 'part of them'.

What are you calling 'grouping together'? The only time in history where true collectivism existed was back during the stone age when humans lived in small tribes but even then the alpha male probably took most of the resources and women for themselves.
