Smelling nice doesn't depend only on the fragrance, as hygiene habits, clothing, diet, oral health and
lifestyle affect how you smell. A fragrance shouldn't cover a bad foundation, just enhance it.

Body odor is caused when bacteria break down sweat on your skin. Sweat itself is odorless but the smell
comes from the
bacteria feeding on oils and dead skin cells.

Shower daily, as it constantly removes dirt, sweat, excess oil, dead skin cells and bacteria. It is crucial to pay
attention to where we store more shit, like armpits, groin, feet and neck.
Also, wash properly and don't just let the water run over you :lul:, use
soap and scrub your skin and when finished
completely dry your skin before getting dressed.

It is very important to brush your teeth in the morning, after meals, and before bed for minimum two minutes.
Also, should
floss between your teeth to get trapped food out and finally cleaning your tongue (with a tongue scraper or with the toothbrush itself) 4 or 5 times a week.

Having a dry mouth and being dehydrated helps bacteria multiply. Aim to drink at least 3 liters of water throughout the
day. Also, what you eat can affect how you smell, as there are some foods like
garlic, onions, excessive alcohol and strong
spices that leave the smell on your mouth (this doesn't mean to avoid them completely, just to be aware of what can happen).
Eating a lot of
vegetables, fruits and lean meats with adequate water intake leads to a clearer scent.

Wear clean clothes and never re-wear underwear, socks and gym clothing without washing them.
Wash clothes properly and being careful of
synthetic fabrics as they could keep some bacteria even after cleaning.
Rotate between
shoes and clean them if needed.

Athlethes often develop odor issues. It's crucial to shower AFTER training immediately and to dress in clean clothes after.
If you train
BJJ, MMA, Muay Thai, cleaning the equipment (rashguards, headgear, gloves, shin guards) is a must as they
keep the
odor and sweat.

Deodorant: Reduces odor but does not stop sweating.
Antiperspirant: Reduces sweating and usually most effective for people who sweat a lot.
The best practice is to apply
deodorant throughout the day and in the night before sleeping antiperspirant.

Fragrances should be the final step, not the first. A fragrance works best on a clean body to enhance it, not to cover it
(as stated before).

Poor sleep affects hormones, skin quality, recovery and sweat production. Everyone should aim for high quality sleep
(preferably sleeping at the same time every night, using magnesium glycinate can help with sleep quality).
Stress
can
increase odor and stress-related sweat often produces stronger smells than exercise-related sweat.
Never stress bhai ;).
