Honestly, I don't know why, but I have a pervy obsession with this stuff. I'm currently using a modded Firefox, but I want to try other things toochromium is just the faster engine and brave by default is enough for the average dude privacy-wise
most of the privacy hardened firefox based browsers are usually fineHonestly, I don't know why, but I have a pervy obsession with this stuff. I'm currently using a modded Firefox, but I want to try other things too
just dont be a terrosit or do highly illegal activies that make money and youll be good bruhLet me drill this through y'all head one more time. Online privacy on the internet does not exist. If you are trying to be completely anonymous on the internet you are not getting it and your digital life is going to very miserable in just trying to attempt that. Slow, inconvenient and painful as hell.

Most the people here think having a mullvad VPN, using brave browser with a proton mail makes them invincible when it's just beginner level. If you want real depth you need to give up all forms of social media and give up using 90% of the apps/websites on your phone and desktop

GrapheneOS: the private and secure mobile OS
GrapheneOS is a security and privacy focused mobile OS with Android app compatibility.grapheneos.org
And even with Tails + GrapheneOS + VLAN segmentation + heavy compartmentalization, every fingerprinting defense turned off you can still be tracked by law enforcement agencies and you'd still trading your entire digital life for privacy. No convenient apps, no cloud sync, no banking apps, no crypto, no social media, no video games,no online purchasing, wait for 2 minutes for simple homepage to load, wear a mask everywhere, only use cash and convince everyone you know to message like it's 2005. There's a name for it. It's called privacy fatigue

People here have the wrong idea about privacy entirely. There's levels to it. You first need to do some threat modelling. You need to identify who are you hiding from, What are you protecting? How much are you willing to compromise

Hiding from Ad agencies, data brokers. That's easy. Your ISP and domains a little harder. Hiding from your government needs serious OPSEC. Hiding from law enforcement agencies that are actively trying to hunt you down basically impossible, you need extreme OPSEC and need to create an seperate online persona/aliases entirely. It's a constant tradeoff between privacy and convenience
Most people who behind your ass are data brokers, ad agencies and low level cyber criminals. Like I mentioned here

Most cyber criminals and doxxers aren't some computer geeks
Most of them are regular con man not much different from someone you'd meet outside tourist places on the streets. They are not some 160 IQ computer geeks breaking into systems and dismantling defenses. 99% of cybercrime comes from script kiddies using pre made tools, low skill scammers...looksmax.org
Users on subreddits like r/privacy, r/privacytoolsIO, or r/ netsec also all finally arrive at this conclusion after years of fiddling around. Just doing the basics, having a good VPN using a privacy focused browsers, multi factor authentication, using Google authenticator etc.. Doing all this stuff already takes you off the list of "Juice ain't worth the squeeze" or easy target category and makes you virtually protected from all real world threats. Just 20% of the effort gets you 70% of the way there it's the rest of it that's hard to do and comes with lots of compromises
Your goal should be hard to track not become some untraceable ghost on the internet that no one can track. You just make it hard enough and introduce enough friction that most people wouldn't pursue you.
