Not only the fact that average facial features are more attractive, or the fact that this phenomenon has been known for QUITE A WHILE, but there is even a valid SCIENTIFIC explanation for why average proportions and not STUPID RATIOS are selected for in a species

Why do I care so much about abandoning the theory of ratios? Well, if you're ratios are "off", what would you do about it? A ratio is a relationship between 2 or more numbers, so by definition you CAN'T know what EXACTLY is wrong with your face by using ratios. If your FWHR is off, then your cheeks MIGHT be too flat, OR your midface might be too long, OR your IPD might be too small, but the ratio can NEVER tell you which is which. Advice and assessments using ratios is weak, and any attempts to understand the face using them will ultimately fail. A biological phenomenon such as attractiveness simply can't have such a sloppy explanation.
BUT WHAT IF WE USED THE MEASUREMENTS INSTEAD? We could know exactly what is wrong with our faces. Your FWHR is off? NONSENSE. You either have a long midface, or flat cheeks, or close set eyes, or whatever have you. And the measurements can tell you EXACTLY WHAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. That's why I made the Iris Method and the Database btw, after I realized this I knew that if I could FIND these average, "ideal" measurements, then I could quite literally describe a UNIVERSAL BEAUTY STANDARD, something that has never been done before, and I could give anybody who cared enough instructions on how to see EXACTLY how they measured up to it.
Next up on this ratio vs average mission is to demonstrate how the Golden Ratio Face Mask is arbitrary since it just gives you average facial measurements anyway. But that'll be for another time.
