The time has come.
I can no longer look at myself in photos without hating my face.
I feel it wasn't as bad when I was younger, perhaps a combination of having braces (that didn't really fix much cosmetically), and maturing physically.
I have about a 10 degree tilt on my teeth and jaw to one side, similar to the image below, but not as bad (this guy has extremely pronounced offset to one side, my main issue is the angle).
This makes my smile extremely uneven, as I cannot raise both sides of my mouth symetrically. Additionally, the line on my cleft chin does not align with the indentation under my nose (not sure of the technical term, but it is significantly offset, at least by a few milimeters).
I am not actually sure whether it is just my lower jaw, or my upper jaw as well. Yet to be determined. I will have a consultation sometime within the next month.
I have very strong germanic facial features (strong brow bone, square jaw) that makes this (in my opinion) very noticeable.
People say they can't notice it in photos, and that I look symmetrical. I am inclined to believe them, but it bothers me, and I think the difference afterwards will be noticeable.
Does anyone here have any experience with operations of this sort?
Advice, or really anything is appreciated.
