I’ve been considering it for a while now. Human life is so precious and I’ve always felt that it’s up to me to help people. If I can even help one person throughout all the hours spent working on it, it’ll be worth it.

Hopefully I never meet any of you on it if I do end up volunteering, suicide should never be an option, keep pushing no matter what.

Do any of you have any knowledge on it though? I’ve never personally used the suicide hotline since I’ve always heard that it unfortunately has super unenthusiastic workers. It would look good on a resume though, which is a nice bonus although I don’t really know if it’s significant, @Jason Voorhees do you know if it’d make a big difference? It doesn’t make a huge difference to me but I would prefer not making a fool of myself if I apply for a job in the future.

Kind but I don't think it's good for someone to listen to everyone ramble about their lives
Probably shifts something inside the person

I have an incels.is account that I use to talk to people on who are struggling, I haven’t been caught yet as non incels aren’t allowed on it but I’ve done my best to help users, I doubt it’d be much worse on the suicide hotline.

That's nice but I think eventually you'll get more empathetic towards such people or maybe desensitized it can cause mental exhaustion eventually ig

If that’s what it takes to save another person then so be it.

I’m sorry man, I hope you never end up in anything suicide related again but stuff like this is why I want to volunteer, everyone deserves to be told they need to live.

How do people even work with that. Imagine waking up then 30 mins later ur having a conversation with an emo teen w a split tongue and 2 decisions she’ll make : either she cuts her wrist or she overdoses on pills

I wouldnt wanna hear that bullshit, just rope already

Ofc it makes a difference

I’d tell 25% of people who call to rope, some situations are simply not worth a try
