Consultation with surgeon regarding fillers

Basically I wanted to get fillers to improve the aesthetics of my cheekbones, but he told me that I need to get nose surgery first and then I should get fillers because of my overall layout. Is he right or should I search for another surgeon? Basically my goal is to "reduce" my face length and improve the width.

Because according to him it'll make my face shorter.

Might give you a shorter nose but consequently a longer* philtrum.
Won't change actual face length, you'd need LF1 with impaction.
