Catboy09 didn’t start as a legend.

He started as a username on a half-forgotten gaming server tucked deep in the corner of the internet—one of those places where the chat scrolls too fast to read and nobody remembers anyone’s real name.

At first, Catboy09 was just… average.

He queued into matches late at night, played support roles nobody wanted, and typed “gg” even when his team was arguing in all caps. His avatar was a simple cat-ear icon someone had drawn in five minutes. Nothing special. Nothing that would make anyone remember him.

But something odd kept happening.

Every time Catboy09 joined a match, the team seemed to do slightly better. Not dramatically. Just enough that losses turned into close games… and close games turned into wins. Teammates would argue less. Someone would always clutch at the last second. And when the match ended, people would say things like:

“wait… who was support again?”
“that cat guy was actually good tho”
“invite Catboy next time”

He didn’t talk much. Just played.

Then came the night everything changed.

It was a ranked match—high stakes, loud comms, toxic lobby before it even started. One player instantly recognized him:

“oh great, we got Catboy09. free loss.”

Nobody defended him. Not even himself.

The match started badly. Their base was collapsing early. Two teammates disconnected. The remaining players started arguing mid-fight.

And Catboy09… stopped typing.

He went quiet.

Then something in his play shifted.

He stopped reacting and started predicting.

He rotated through lanes like he could see the map a few seconds into the future. He set traps that didn’t make sense at the time—until the enemy walked straight into them. He saved teammates who were already considered dead. He sacrificed objectives that looked important… only for them to realize later they were bait.

The lobby went silent.

Even the toxic player stopped talking.

When the final fight came, it was 3 vs 5. Impossible on paper.

Catboy09 initiated.

Not aggressively—precisely. Like he was placing the last piece of a puzzle that had already been solved.

Victory screen.

No one typed “gg” right away.

Then, slowly:

“…what are you?”

Catboy09 finally spoke in chat.

just:
“gg”

And left.

After that, things escalated.

Clips of the match spread. People started reviewing his gameplay frame by frame, arguing about whether he was cheating, smurfing, or something worse. Some said he was a pro testing accounts. Others insisted he was AI training in disguise.

But no one could prove anything.

Because Catboy09 never repeated the same pattern twice.

Sometimes he carried. Sometimes he barely spoke. Sometimes he lost on purpose—but even those losses felt planned, like they were setting up something no one could see yet.

And always, he disappeared after the match.

No friend requests accepted.

No messages read.

Just “gg” and gone.

Eventually, players started treating Catboy09 like a myth inside the game. New players would hear whispers:

“If Catboy09 is on your team, just trust it.”
“If he’s against you, don’t chase him.”
“If he says nothing for the first five minutes… you’ve already lost.”

But the truth—if there was one—was simpler.

Catboy09 wasn’t trying to be a legend.

He just liked the game.
