Because personality is kinda vague to define, it's something you're supposed to be in control of, and it can be reinterpreted however others want it: if you're ugly but confident you're considered arrogant, if you're shy you're creepy and so on, while an attractive but arrogant person is seen as confident or if he's shy as mysterious, etc.
