Soooo recently I realized that I have a cranial tilt, and I’ve come to understand that most people do too.
When you look in a mirror or camera, you’re seeing yourself inverted. Over time, you naturally start angling your face in a way that looks “right” in the mirror, but in reality, others are seeing the opposite.
It’s not just mirror habits that cause this either…. your dominant eye, hand, and even the leg you favor more all play a role. These subtle daily reoccurring patterns affect how your skull sits on your neck, which in turn impacts your posture. Most people are completely unaware of how big a difference this makes.
I only discovered my own tilt about three months ago, but the changes I’ve made since then have been huge. I’ve gone from having one very overactive SCM (sternocleidomastoid muscle) to balancing both sides, which has evened out my face, given it a wider appearance, improved my breathing, improved my posture, reduced pain, and even helped correct things like my deviated septum, uneven jaw, and asymmetrical eyes.
It’s also “woken up” muscles I wasn’t using before, released fascial restrictions, and given me a much more balanced facial structure.

This is my first post but I think it’s pretty important.

{I have pretty substantial progress photos but idk abt showing my face on here}
