I think its just that people with a compact midface usually have a short nose. It seems that women would prefer a slightly longer nose than pitt or dicaprio have, a nose like cavill has would be better since it is a bit longer and more projecting, but its not long like those pictures your posted, its in harmony with the rest of the face.
