Not true. Creatine draws water into the cells, which is what we call increased intracellular fluid retention, and that’s a very good thing in this case. What can cause you to feel bloated is your salt intake, more specifically poor regulation of electrolytes through your diet. The thing about creatine is that it uses what you can call a salt-dependent transporter, so you need salt to help the creatine get into the cells. If you have a large amount of salt in your diet, then you’ll have an increased and faster uptake...

If you have a large amount of salt in your diet, then you’ll have an increased and faster uptake of creatine inside the cells, but the problem with consuming large amounts of salt is that it makes you carry more water outside the cells, what you can call extracellular, which gives you that bloated look.

No. Creatine causes intracellular water retention, but this is not the facial bloating most people think of which is extracellular, anyone who tells you creatine bloats you is just getting confused and don't actually know how it works.

But even if it did bloat you, creatine has so many effects and benefits, not only on your exercise performance, that it's a worthy sacrifice.

No, you should never stop taking creatine. Everyone in the world should use it, even if they don’t work out. Creatine helps fill your muscles with water, which allows you to do more reps, and more reps lead to more muscle growth, who wouldn’t want that? Also, because your muscles hold more water, they look fuller, which makes your physique look better.

one more question tho, do i actually need the salt or can i normally use it without salt intake?
You don’t need salt to take creatine. It can slightly boost its effectiveness, but it’s not necessary, especially since too much salt can make you bloated.

I started taking creatine about a month ago, and honestly I think my bloat slightly improved. Possibly because it pulls water retention from under the skin into the muscles giving the illusion of being a bit leaner. No issues yet
