Since both of our attention spans are fucked, I will keep this short:
There are no studies I could find on this specific topic, but I tried it myself. I got down to about 11% body fat and maintained it for a few months, then added creatine.
After about 3 months, I gained 2 kg (likely creatine-related) while maintaining my diet. My muscles looked fuller, but my face also looked a bit more bloated especially the cheek area. The hollow look wasn’t as pronounced as before.
Has anyone else had similar experiences?
- Creatine → increases water retention in trained muscles
- You have muscles in your face
- If you actively train your masseters, creatine will also affect them
- It doesn’t “choose” specific muscles; it will also affect facial muscles
- This can mean more water retention and a slightly more “bloated” face
