Creatine is a semi-essential amino acid as it's synthesized in -vivo however the body requires an extra 3-5g supply daily for most optimal functioning of the mitochondrial and other metabolic processes. Omnivores may not benefit from creatine however people who sparsely consume animal products (as creatine is only present in animal products) may benefit to such extent that it may result in higher IQ scores as well as other improvements in other aspects of cognition.
