A 23-year-old cryptocurrency trader known as MistaFuccYou committed suicide while live on X on Friday night. The suicide occurred after he lost his last $500 in a scam involving memecoins.
Before shooting himself, he pointed a gun directly at himself and stated: “If I die, make me a meme coin.” The gun misfired twice before firing on the third attempt. The video, which ran for more than 30 minutes, showed the crypto community’s reaction in real time, as a new memecoin with his name quickly appeared on the market.
Minutes after the incident, a token called “Mistacoin” was created.
Users on X and Reddit began speculating about the case, suggesting it may have been a marketing stunt gone awry. Others believed MistaFuccYou was playing Russian Roulette, given his behavior before the fatal shooting.
