It was supposed to be a great day at the university’s Open Week, a chance to meet new people, maybe join some clubs, and hopefully meet some interesting girls. The weather started off fine, but as soon as I arrived, the clouds rolled in, and by the time I got to the stalls, the rain began to fall. The place was packed with people, but the atmosphere felt heavy, and the looming storm seemed to hang over everything.

I saw the Greek Society stall and decided to make a move. There was a girl there, and we started chatting. It went surprisingly well, and she invited me to the BBQ that evening at 4:30 PM, telling me to come to all the events she had mentioned. It felt like a moment of connection, and I was looking forward to seeing her later. We even ended the conversation with a tight hug. I was genuinely excited about the possibility of meeting her again and maybe even getting involved with the Greek Society.

But as soon as I stepped out of the campus, the weather took a turn for the worse. The skies opened up, and what started as light rain quickly turned into a heavy thunderstorm. By the time I was getting ready to head to the BBQ, the storm had intensified. And it wasn’t just a passing shower—it was going to rain all week. Suddenly, all the plans felt like they were slipping away, along with any hope of seeing her tonight or connecting with anyone else.

The whole vibe shifted from excitement to frustration, and the day that had started with promise seemed to end in disappointment.
