Cultures which are “transactional” in nature are inevitably BOUND to fail and collapse.

A society ought to be built on mutual trust and kinship, not transactions or barters.

Op pls elab

And what culture you are talking about?
For example the Indian society. Extremely transactional.
“Why should I do xyz for u? What have u done for me in return?”

Viking Society was simply far ahead, “here have some food because you’re a member of my community.”

What, where????
Are there societies that give you free stuff just because you're a member? Who works there then, what is even the point of working if you already get free stuff?

It’s not about the free stuff.
It’s about the mutual trust they have with members of the society.
They have each other’s back.
The person who was given food wouldn’t take it for granted and would be ready to protect at all costs.
Even if he got no free shit.

this type of trust is what us humans are made to be on. And it doesn’t work on a large scale. It simply doesn’t.
Large Societies are “inhuman” you could say

So it's stormfronters like Dwohh?
Haven’t talked to him in ages.

I’m not belittling anyone, just trying to make a sense of why “perfect society” is impossible

Wrong! Many people will stop working and happily live on welfare as long as the others provide for them, no one works for his "society" and others, they are only interested in themselves...

Why do you think that is?

I’m hopeful that people will get tired of “being greedy” at one point. They will eventually get tired of their selfishness.

Your knowledge of Viking Society is extremely shit then.

Why do you think that is?
Because no one enjoys working, work sucks, they only work so they wouldn't starve, if they can get stuff for free they will stop working immediately.

You think you can feel satisfied without being productive with your work?

And by work I mean actual work you enjoy doing not tiring jobs where you hate yourself
