My dad had crazy good genes but ended up 5'11 and some change. His dad was 6'4-5 and his mom was 5'10 in her prime. I know that height can revert back towards the mean but I really wonder how on earth that's even possible. Before you mention "milkman" or something, that didn't happen. What did happen though is that he was born very early. I can't remember how early but it was by several weeks. I feel like that had to have had some sort of effect on him but I'm not completely sure. I hope that the genes are still in his DNA which would be transferred over to me but maybe they were damaged or something due to the premature birth. It's also important to note that his dad was like 5'9-5'11 when he entered college so the whole thing is odd. Kinda rambling but if anyone can provide insight that would be nice.

I doubt it he was in his late 80s when he died. I forget what year he was born but I doubt that steroids were easily attainable in the 60s (when he would've shot up the extra inches). At least compared to today it would've been harder. My grandpa's family was tall though so it could've just been delayed puberty.
