Agree, I don’t get the hate, every arranged marriage in my family has been successful. Only one has failed or maybe two, and it’s cause they beat their wives

Like, if I would ask a relative or a matchmaker to search for a bride? Without meeting her beforehand? I don’t know. I have already gotten such offers, but I have not gone through with them. Mainly because I struggle with the idea if I want to get married or not. I don’t want children and that is the unwritten rule in our Islamic societies: you marry so you can start a family. That is pretty much the entire purpose. To me, a marriage is just a way to not be lonely for life. I am conflicted. What about you?

Unfortunately, this is true. Westernization is a plague in Islamic countries. People think everyone there are hqnp, but they are sorely mistaken. Degeneracy is rampant in these countries, women get fucked before marriage. Although I’m from Pakistan, I even know women who have multiple boyfriends. :ROFLMAO:

I have the exact same conflict, like literally word for word.
I don’t not want a child because I don’t want to raise a kid.
I don’t want to put a child through the suffering of being this height, it’s not the worst thing ever, but it’s not great. I wouldn’t want him to resent me. I could get IVF to confirm I get a daughter :think:

But yeah I just don’t want to be lonely when I’m older. Like when my parents die I’d be completely alone

About the meeting her thing, in Egypt at least the bride and groom meet for like a month or talk in a group chat to see compatibility maybe you could try that

Do you live in Pakistan?
If I do get an arranged marriage ideally id want her to be from some village so she’s less westernised I want to lead a life like my grandparents but I don’t know if that’s possible even in Muslim countries due to westernisation. But my Arabic sucks :lul:

This is the first time I’m meeting someone with the exact same dilemma, with the exact same background (not that I’m Egyptian; but you get my point). We are definitely rare in this, everyone else I know wants children and thinks I’m weird for not wanting them. How old are you now? Do you have your life together? I absolutely don’t. No source of income, no job, no property to my name, no university degree. Nothing. I’m an absolute loser through and through. Even if I did decide to get married, I wouldn’t be able to due to all my shortcomings. Ugh. Fuck.
