Is there a huge difference between damon and traditonal braces and if so is it still better to get traditonal braces with a palate expander then not to wear any braces? since some people say it might cause recession im 14 btw.

yeah i've seen people say damon are better but i dont have any crooked teeth or any teeth problems the only reason i wanna get on it is to fix my slight overbite which makes my mandible look a bit recessed can a palate expander help with overbites?

Traditional braces will not cause recession but damon braces will give you results faster, fewer office visits and can expand your dental arch.

Traditional braces look 10x better if you get like light blue / dark blue bands. With Damon’s you can’t get elastics so they just look hideous in my opinion donr get them ngl especially if your gonna have them in for years if you don’t care about the looks part then Damon mogs yea

Only a palate expander wont fix your overbite, and you will need braces after the expander anyway.

Palate expander wouldn’t fix and overbite no, speak to your ortho you should have some options at 14 but don’t let them extract teeth or anything obviously

traditional braces dont cause recession but if ur still in key fast window of development they can halt the forward growth.

Palate expander doesnt acc fix overbite but can benefit u for other reasons. id say do damon because the wire doesnt push the face back as much, clear aligners are better but u have an overbite not all orthos can fix bite alignment w aligners. for an overbite avoid bands because they might slightyl flatten ur maxilla to fix the recession in the mandible. yada yada get a herbst, damon and then palate if u rlly need i.
