Damon Braces

I recently got damon braces and they hurt like hell I have an overbite and an overjet currently I have no elastics what are the benefits of damon over traditional because I asked my ortho and a he said was it really is just more comfortable for me but my parents don’t have a fuck so how do I explain to them that the reason I didn’t want traditional braces is that I don’t want to get reccessed. I already got them on but they keep bugging me about why you had to get those.
