Dandruff

I’ve had dandruff for about two years now, tried every shampoo and about every cream. A couple months ago I got prescribed some hair drops that I need to put on my scalp every day, I did and the dandruff disappeared.. the doctor told me to slowly titrate off the drops (from 7 days a week to 3 then eventually to 0) and now after a couple months of titrating down I’m at once a week and my dandruff is back. Not just a little bit but like full fledged dandruff I don’t know what to do I don’t wanna be using these drops forever

Have you tried 2% ketoconazole shampoo?

yeah those drops aren't a cure, just management. i dont know a cure but i will list some stuff that will help:

• medicated shampoo 2 times a week, 2 mins on scalp for a t least 2 months
• switch between ketoconazole, selenium sulfide every few weeks

I got selenium sulfide and ketoconazole on hand but keto never helped my scalp, I’m gonna try using them more often

If it's just white dandruff like what most people have that's dry scalp I can just tell you to use a free sulfate shampoo like everybody and that's actually helpful, but you also need to shampoo only once a week and you can just wash your hair with conditioner and rinse with water for the rest, and also add in a moisturizer if you have curly/wavy hair.

If it's yellow/a lil green/orange type of dandruff that's buildup and could also be Soborrheic, if it's just buildup short answer you're just not clean just wash your hair regulary maybe shampoo twice or 3 times a week , if it Soborrheic you'll need some type of tropical medication , I would recommend Miconazole 2%
