Before I came to university in the midwest, I was living in a big city where Hypergamy is at it's worst.

Ever since I came to my mid western uni in the middle of nowhere though, I see and experience a lot less hypergamous behavior from women. Sub-8 theory is most brutal in extremely urban areas.

True that, probably because women are exposed to better looking, higher status/earning men. I live in a small town myself and don't see a lot of examples of hypergamy where as if I would look at couples in the capital of my country, it would be a different story
